Along with her husband Mark, Pegi has traveled extensively, having visited more than 70 countries across 6 continents! Mark and Pegi were married in a traditional Masaii wedding ceremony in the Masaii Mara region of Kenya, Africa in 2005. They spent considerable time with the village elders who coached them in the Masaii traditions and preserving a happy, healthy marriage. Pegi believes that her multi-national, multi-cultural exposure helps to give her a unique perspective into life’s ups and downs.
Pegi graduated Summa Cum Laude from Indiana University with a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education in 1998. She received her Indiana State Licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2001. Pegi uses a wide variety of Family Systems approaches such as Emotion Focused, Bowenian, Structural, and Strategic Therapies to assist her clients in effective healing and change. Pegi has completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 Clinical Training of Gottman Method Couples Therapy and is now just the 2nd Certified Gottman Therapist in the State of Indiana! Pegi offers Gottman Method Couples Therapy in sessions ranging from 1 to 5 hours.
Pegi’s training after graduate school focused on the treatment of trauma survivors, in both children and adults. As a result, she has extensive experience with treating foster children, adopted children, and survivors of childhood sexual abuse and sexual assault. She has extensive experience in working with clients with Borderline Personality Disorder and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Pegi has worked with parents and school systems for years to help children with ADHD, Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder. She also has a personal interest in providing supportive counseling services to families dealing with Alzheimer's Disease. An avid practitioner of daily meditation, Pegi has taught meditation to individuals, small groups and to large public groups for more than 10 years.
In 2000, with the encouragement of her supervisors, Pegi began private practice and opened The Santé Group, Inc. in 2004. Her motivation to have a group practice which focuses on healing the whole self has led her to a thorough knowledge of the use of Mindfulness as a form of treatment. She has expanded her career to include clinical supervision of many therapists working toward their licensure as well as those already licensed therapists in the community. She also provides training and support via public speaking, consultation for corporations as well as all of LaGrange and Steuben County Head Start programs, and working with Trine University providing workshops for students. In addition to her commitment to the therapeutic process, Pegi has a long history of business management, supervisory, and accounting experience. She has worked in the Insurance and Human Resources fields which has provided her with the expertise necessary to run a successful group practice that effectively manages health insurance issues.
